it is seriously hurting people like myself who are survivors of incestual sexual abuse and have to see incest ships on their dash all the time in every fandom because incest is so hugely popular and for some reason perfectly normalized and excusable in fandom culture and it’s also hurting people who are seeing incest and pedophilia being popularized in fandom and thinking that it’s okay, that it’s normal or even cool to be underage and allow older people (esp. older men, who are worshipped on this website) to take advantage of them both emotionally and sexually because of all of the normalization of it that they see online………tldr ship shaming isn’t fucking real and isn’t hurting anyone whereas normalizing sexual abuse, incest, and pedophilia is LITERALLY hurting real people and kids and you should fuck right off forever thanks
